It’s been a while since I did this exercise, but like everyone else, I’m blaming galloping inertia, the absence of incentives, my parents who failed to disassociate their pain, and a sense of predestined failure. Taking advantage of the downtime of site maintenance, I have entered every outcome as accurately as possible, and I am delighted to report – and much in line with our new motto, (see site header), said by one of the legendary Investment Fund managers – we haven’t done as badly as readers might think. Yes agreed, the headline figures do confirm that Raceweb has failed to make a profit over more than 1100 races, golf matches, Grand Prix, and various other sporting events in that time. We have tipped 245+ Winners, 185+ places and we have had 55 NRs or Abandoned. We have had 11 winning exotic bets and 80 losers. Based on our stake of £2 win and £1 e/w, the turnover was over £3,500 and up to Thursday, we showed a loss of £84.02 or approx 3½%.
In other words, Raceweb consistently provides responsible fun for less than the cost of large Gin and Tonic once a month. I shall suggest this new slogan to Gamblers Aware.
