“A difference of opinion is what makes horse racing and missionaries."

Another exciting Premierisation of a perfectly good Sunday.

I watched the big fight last night. The Hon. summed it up very accurately: “If he keeps showing off like that, he’s going to get a thick lip.” I have no idea where she learned that sort of language – but she was spot on, except that the whole of his face took a battering. I never want to get a right-hander from either of them, but I thought Usyk the Uke was considerably neater, more considered in his ring-craft and relentless in his determination. I had him three rounds ahead at the final bell. I hope this does not lead to a simple money fight between Joshua and Fury because the winner would be tempted to go back to Usyk, and neither of them could win that fight on current form.

Yesterday’s racing was interesting, although I’m not sure I’m any wiser, except I am certain that Gosden isn’t either. I am also no wiser about Amo Racing, in that I learned nothing new yesterday—I merely had my every instinct about the owner validated in his treatment of Roger Varian. Thank God for Owners who know more about horses than their trainers, what would all the other trainers do without them?

Talking of Arse and Elbow differentials – some thoughts on today.

HELP KEEP THE RACEWEB VOICE ALIVE

Annual domain registrations, site hosting, software licences, form guides, research costs and a host of other minor and but not inconsequential outgoings are the burden for all website owners.

Even the smallest donation can make the difference between the Off and On switch.

It’s not just that once in a while we actually prove accurate, and you possibly make a bit of pocket money, but occasionally, we might perhaps suggest a view that could possibly change someone’s mind. For the better.

That’s a lot of Maybes and Possiblies, but sometimes we have to try and change a plan or encourage them to move a mountain, and if that means we make you smile, or shout with anger, or shake with laughter, then Huzzah!

That’s your donation that did that. Thank You.
