At a recent editorial meeting, the head of compliance suggested that in 2020 we should in some way hold ourselves accountable, so that the incurably stupid who blindly followed our tips, might at least get some pre-warning, and thus an opportunity to bag a decent pitch under the arches on the Embankment. O’Tool via his satellite link from the Mountains of Moan, said not. The Tissue who is currently investigating the possibility that his pram was swapped with Prince Harry in St James Park, said it was a grand idea and I said let’s give it a go pro-tem. So we reviewed last year’s performance and decided it was a draw. Someone suggested that the overall outcome was much along the lines of the retreat from Moscow, with victory simply being counted as getting home. Harsh, but it might give you some flavour of the depths to which Raceweb constantly dives to improve.

To remind readers, where we do CAPS it is a 2pt win bet and when ITALICISED 1pt e/w. In our posts however, we do not limit ourselves to suggesting simply a win and or an each-way bet. Oh no… sometimes we might dutch two or three horses where we pick three to win and split a stake between them to win the same amount. Sometimes we might suggest becoming very exotic – these are all entirely up to you. For the purposes however of pleasing the Compliance and Financial Health & Safety departments here at Raceweb Court, we will simply stick to the above formula when calculating how astute we aren’t.

Last week we suggested:

  • 1:50 SANDOWN:- JOHNBB – DELIRE DESTRUVAL 2nd 5/1 (-2+0)
  • 2:05 WINCANTON:- MOLINEAUX 1st 11/4 (+5.5)
  • 2:25 SANDOWN:-  SILVER HALLMARK – FIDDLERONTHEROOF 1st 5/4 (-2+2.50)
  • 2:40 WINCANTON:- HORSE FORCE ONE – MERRY MILAN (-2-2)
  • 3:00 SANDOWN:- VIEUX LION ROUGE, HORATIO HORNBLOWER, DARK FLAME, and REGAL FLOW 2nd 16/1 (-2-2-2+4)
  • 3:15 WINCANTON:- VALDEZ (-2)
  • 3:35 SANDOWN:- GUNNERY – RUACANA (-2-2)

HELP KEEP THE RACEWEB VOICE ALIVE

Annual domain registrations, site hosting, software licences, form guides, research costs and a host of other minor and but not inconsequential outgoings are the burden for all website owners.

Even the smallest donation can make the difference between the Off and On switch.

It’s not just that once in a while we actually prove accurate, and you possibly make a bit of pocket money, but occasionally, we might perhaps suggest a view that could possibly change someone’s mind. For the better.

That’s a lot of Maybes and Possiblies, but sometimes we have to try and change a plan or encourage them to move a mountain, and if that means we make you smile, or shout with anger, or shake with laughter, then Huzzah!

That’s your donation that did that. Thank You.
