As I head off to the annual Guinness Carol Concert, I spied one for today which, had the Captain not already made his selections I would have popped into the Advent Calendar.

GLUTNFORPUNISHMENT runs in the 12:10 at Lingfield. Last night he was 9/1, this morning he is already 11/2. The gelding is 2 from 2 over C&D and runs well fresh (returning from a three-month break). The favourite, Lord Halifax, is thrown in at the weights. However, Littmoden’s boy has got Villiers atop and, after watching him at Wolverhampton tonight, I would suggest that he is already a top-class jockey. I think Lord Halifax is 6lbs better off at the weights but Villiers takes 7lb off.
Definitely has a decent e/w shout.
