What ho,-
Many of you might have heard I was taking The Hon hill-walking in Tuscany this week. In fact, we swerved it because of two family deaths, an unsteady pater, a filthy weather report, and an inability to agree on an itinerary. So, instead, we headed off to Tenerife, having acquired a taste for La Vie Shagaloof, where a tan was guaranteed.
Sadly, whilst considering whether to use crampons on a proposed solo climb of the south face of Mt. Tjede, whilst doing my Calisthenics, I turned too quickly coming out of the Frightened Mouse position and tore a left knee ligament.
Crutches and knee braces later, The Hon has deserted me to continue her research for her forthcoming book, Spanish Masculinity, Myth or Mrs, leaving me tethered to a poolside bar. Who knew Aperol Spritz and Sangria worked together?
No blog today… just this, I hope, sage advice
* Put these in 1/2 pt trebles for the sport

1330 Newbury. HAMISH 3 pts win

1405 Newbury STAR MUSIC*

1440 Newbury SON – ROOM SERVICE 7 pts dutch

Ayr 1425 Scottish Champion Hurdle

FAVOUR AND FORTUNE was 6th in the G1 Supreme, but a mistake at the first hurdle cost him rhythm and pace. He plugged on, and his placing was gutsy. He’s not a Cheltenham horse, and I thought he might go to Aintree, but he’s been kept fresh for this. He is 12111 (4/5, 1p) on flat & slightly undulating tracks. We backed AFADIIL big LTO around Aintree which proved he was another unsuited by Cheltenham.

FAVOUR AND FORTUNE 6pts Win – AFADIL 4 pts e/w

1515 Newbury THUNDER BALL 6 Pts e/w*

Ayr 1525. Scottish Grand National.

GIT MAKER posted a career-best performance LTO and was unlucky to meet the winner, INOTHEWAYURTHINKIN, who is top-class. Yes, he was 8l behind, but he was 18l ahead of the rest, and he’s only picked up 1lb. I am staggered he is as big as 6s. The main selection…

GIT MAKER 5 pts e/w – MY SILVER LINING 3 pts e/w  WE’LLHAVEWAN 1 pt e/w – EGBERT 1 pt e/w

1550 Newbury ECONOMICS 7 pts win*

1555 Curragh VILLAGE VOICE*

1755 Nottingham THE DRAGON KING*

Finally in sage advice terms, never turn suddenly in flip-flops after three free-pour Irish Coffees!

HELP KEEP THE RACEWEB VOICE ALIVE

Annual domain registrations, site hosting, software licences, form guides, research costs and a host of other minor and but not inconsequential outgoings are the burden for all website owners.

Even the smallest donation can make the difference between the Off and On switch.

It’s not just that once in a while we actually prove accurate, and you possibly make a bit of pocket money, but occasionally, we might perhaps suggest a view that could possibly change someone’s mind. For the better.

That’s a lot of Maybes and Possiblies, but sometimes we have to try and change a plan or encourage them to move a mountain, and if that means we make you smile, or shout with anger, or shake with laughter, then Huzzah!

That’s your donation that did that. Thank You.
