Well, there can’t be many times when you get beaten out of sight and you’re cheering the photograph that shows you coming third. The result of that photograph in the Juddmonte International meant for Sir Busker’s owners £55,000 more prize money than the 4th horse – a total of £107,600. Their exceptional horse came third to arguably the best racehorse in the world, which should put him on some Top 100 list. Those who backed him for three places also got 17/2 for coming third from Bet365 and had a cracking day out. The horse is run by Kennet Valley Thoroughbreds which has been going for over 30 years and is now run by the charming Sam Hoskins and Piers Winkworth. For a £25k horse, Sir Busker’s accumulated prize monies to date of £540,000 are something of an eye-opener, but I am reminded of Gary Player, who famously said: ” The harder I practice, the luckier I get.”

I wish my hard work paid off as well. Keeping up the practice.

1:50 Sky Bet Lowther Stakes (G2) (Fillies) (IRE Incentive Race) Cl1 (2yo) 6f 14 runners

DRAMATISED is the worthy favourite and is top-rated on Timeform clear by 5. However, her Queen Mary form is far from solid with the runner-up finishing behind MAWJ in The Duchess of Cambridge LTO. LADY HOLLYWOOD has been supplemented for £20k following her 5f Listed victory at Naas LTO. (2nd and 4th then fought out another Listed with a short head between them). She’ll make the frame.

MAWJ 3 pts Win – LADY HOLLYWOOD 1½ pts e/w – ½pt RFC

2:25 Goffs UK Harry Beeby Premier Yearling Stakes Cl2 (2yo) 6f 19 runners

Three Havana Grey offspring run in this, HAVANA BY THE SEA, SHOULDVEBEENARING, METAHORSE and here is a little stat for you. Havana Greys over 5-6f where they were making their debut or had a top 6 finish LTO are 146R – 31W (21.23%) – 30P (20.55%) for a 76pt+ profit. Just saying. The trends horses are KINGS CROWN and NORTHCLIFF and one I fancy off the sheet is REDEMPTION TIME. I might have gone for Hannon’s but she’s been off for 95 days. I’m struggling to see where the pace will come from, but KINGS CROWN does give the impression he’d prefer to run from the front. 6 places with Skybet make the selections of e/w interest.

KINGS CROWN 2pts e/w – NORTHCLIFF 1 pt e/w

HELP KEEP THE RACEWEB VOICE ALIVE

Annual domain registrations, site hosting, software licences, form guides, research costs and a host of other minor and but not inconsequential outgoings are the burden for all website owners.

Even the smallest donation can make the difference between the Off and On switch.

It’s not just that once in a while we actually prove accurate, and you possibly make a bit of pocket money, but occasionally, we might perhaps suggest a view that could possibly change someone’s mind. For the better.

That’s a lot of Maybes and Possiblies, but sometimes we have to try and change a plan or encourage them to move a mountain, and if that means we make you smile, or shout with anger, or shake with laughter, then Huzzah!

That’s your donation that did that. Thank You.
