The Almost God of Thirsk smiled briefly in our collective direction when I wrote,

DUBAI LOVE is getting first-time cheekpieces from S Bin S and while he’s a perfectly nice horse the issue is his ability rather than his focus. PISANELLO’s Beverley victory LTO came in spite of major traffic problems in the last furlong and he’s good at any price down to 7s as an e/w bet. I also had a whisper for REDARNA, but I cannot remember from whom or why.

Dubai Love ran as predicted and had no excuses. PISANELLO, also as predicted ran better than his win at a lower grade LTO and came third. REDARNA who we didn’t back, won at 66/1. A simple error, but a costly one. Without that oversight, we would have straightened our books out for the month. Apart from that, Epatante ran with the switch in the off position and otherwise, the train crash continued.

It gets a little depressing when you’ve done the work and the results slip you by, but we have to accept the rough with the smooth, and bat on.

That aside I had the jolliest dinner last night. Unusually for the area, someone arrived sober and managed to hit the house with their car. The house was large enough, one would have thought, not to hit but sometimes things move without warning, and the house had patently jumped a couple of feet into their path.

I wish some of my recent selections had similar abilities to move so quickly.

HELP KEEP THE RACEWEB VOICE ALIVE

Annual domain registrations, site hosting, software licences, form guides, research costs and a host of other minor and but not inconsequential outgoings are the burden for all website owners.

Even the smallest donation can make the difference between the Off and On switch.

It’s not just that once in a while we actually prove accurate, and you possibly make a bit of pocket money, but occasionally, we might perhaps suggest a view that could possibly change someone’s mind. For the better.

That’s a lot of Maybes and Possiblies, but sometimes we have to try and change a plan or encourage them to move a mountain, and if that means we make you smile, or shout with anger, or shake with laughter, then Huzzah!

That’s your donation that did that. Thank You.
